Who are We?
California Grading & Excavating was built on more than 18 years of hands-on industry experience in grading, excavation, paving, underground utilities, demolition, land clearing, and site development.
As a locally owned and operated company, we proudly serve residential, commercial, municipal, and agricultural clients throughout Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties. From custom homes and private estates to public infrastructure and commercial developments, we bring the same level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to quality to every project — regardless of size.
While California Grading & Excavating is a newer company, our experience is not. Owner and Operator Casey Kenyon has spent nearly two decades building and managing projects for municipalities, large contractors, custom residential developments, and commercial construction throughout the Central Coast. His background includes experience working with cities, counties, and both union and non-union companies. Managing & building projects ranging from $4,000 to over $4 million.

Meet Casey - Owner / Operator
Born and raised in Carmel Valley, Casey has deep roots in the community he proudly serves. Today, he lives in Corral de Tierra with his wife and son and is committed to bringing dependable, high-quality construction services to local homeowners, contractors, businesses, and municipalities.
Holding a California General Engineering (Class A) Contractor’s License, Class A Driver’s License, and Operator Qualification (OQ) Certifications, Casey brings extensive technical knowledge and real-world expertise to every project.
Over the past 18+ years, Casey has developed extensive experience managing and building projects throughout Monterey County, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach, Monterey, Salinas, Seaside, and surrounding communities. His long-standing relationships with local inspectors, engineers, project managers, and permitting agencies allow him to help clients successfully navigate projects from early planning and permitting through final inspection.
What sets Casey apart is his hands-on experience at every level of the industry. Casey has worked every phase of construction — from laborer and equipment operator to foreman, estimator, and superintendent, providing him with a rare understanding of both the field and the full construction process. This experience allows him to deliver expert execution, practical problem-solving, and clear communication on projects of every size.
Unlike larger companies, Casey remains actively involved in every project. As an Owner/Operator, he is present through all phases of work, ensuring quality, accountability, and attention to detail from start to finish.
